Investing in Property Overseas, Why Choose Tenerife?

• The weather! - Ask any group of UK expat's why they moved abroad and most of them will tell you it was to escape the cold, grey British winter and the generally wet and disappointing British summer too! The weather in Tenerife is definitely a main attraction as many other locations are affected by extremes of temperature, high levels of humidity and tropical storms, whereas Tenerife has one of the best climates in the world with average temperatures ranging between 23°C (73°F). - 28°C (82°F), with no hurricanes and no earthquakes!
• Investment Value -. Many places experience cycles of fluctuating property prices which sometimes mean that you might buy a property now and find that it is worth less, instead of more, in one year's time! This is not the case on Tenerife. For the past 20 years, property prices have been increasing at an average rate of around 10% growth year on year and as Tenerife is part of Spain which is in the EC, the currency in Tenerife is the Euro, one of the world's most stable currencies.
• Travelling time. A major element of concern to most people wanting to live abroad is the distance from friends and family. If you buy a property in the US or the Caribbean then you have to factor in long flights, often with stopovers and even the apparently gentle 2 or 3 hour flight to Spain can soon become double or triple that with travelling time involved to and from airports. In comparison, you can fly from virtually any airport in the UK to Tenerife's modern International airport in 4 hours, where the main areas of the south are a mere 10 or 15 minutes' drive along a modern motorway.
• Language Barrier. In Tenerife, although Spanish is the official language and is spoken throughout the island, English is also spoken extensively and in the South it is at least as prevalent as Spanish.
